Aubrey Hanson, James River Country Club’s November Employee of the Month, was born in Norfolk, VA, and grew up in Smithfield with her mother. She enjoys visiting her family in Minnesota, especially during the winter season, and has two younger siblings, Bucky (7) and Diane (6), whom she adores and often cares for.
Aubrey is a senior at Menchville High School and is on track to graduate early. She plans to attend community college in the spring for one semester before moving on to a four-year university. With aspirations to become a Commonwealth Attorney for Norfolk, VA, Aubrey has applied to several universities. These include James Madison University, Virginia Tech, the University of North Carolina, and the University of Virginia, with a strong hope to attend the University of Virginia.
Inspired by her own experiences, she dreams of eventually starting a law firm dedicated to family law.
Beyond her academic and career goals, Aubrey has a passion for golf—a skill taught by her uncle, though she humbly admits she’s still a novice. She also enjoys staying active and recently completed her first marathon in March. Her Australian Shepherd, Charlie, is her loyal companion.
At James River, Aubrey is known for her warm smile and helpful nature, always ready to assist golfers with enthusiasm. She has even been assisting with administrative tasks across other departments in her downtime, demonstrating her willingness and ability to learn new skills quickly. James River Country Club is incredibly thankful for Aubrey’s dedication to her work and appreciates all she brings to the team.
